Injuries and Standing Consequences#

  • Doug's right wrist carries a deep bruise from the stranger's grip for the whole story. It is shaped wrong and he stops showing people.
  • Wade's two cracked knuckles (jukebox, Ep 1) are splinted through Ep 4.
  • Jerry's left forearm takes a freezing glycol spray (Ep 3). Wrapped in a bar towel, then properly bandaged. Scar is permanent. He calls it a warranty claim against God.
  • Doug has an open sheriff's vandalism case (staging-lot tire damage, $11,400 assessed). Deputy Renner has his name penciled, not inked. This file follows Doug into later stories.
  • Dale Purvis loses the Heritage tow contract for knowing Doug.
  • The district's approved standards include security requirements justified in part by Doug's sabotage. His win made their case stronger.
  • Randy bills the Ep 1 fight participants for glassware, replacement plus labor, and both pay by Friday.

New Facts for Editorial Review#

  • Tuesday fights are a standing economic institution at Randy's. Randy bills combatants. Heather decides when a thing is finished.
  • The stranger took a cue to the ribs without noticing, gripped Doug's wrist with wrong strength, paid an exact tab, and tipped twenty percent in bills that smell like fresh hops.
  • Heather charmed the paving schedule out of a Heritage soft-opening bartender for what she believed was hearing prep. Doug used it for Rolling Thunder. The price of using her intelligence without disclosure is now established between them.
  • Operation Rolling Thunder: tire hazards across the contractor staging lot, eight flats, survey slipped a week, $11,400 assessed damage, sheriff's case opened. Nobody was hurt, which Jerry calls luck and Doug calls spacing.
  • Slater reads as a handler who assumes everyone is already an asset. He implied clearance, offered no first name, appeared on no agenda, and left the hearing before the vote. Doug's visceral hatred is planted and unexplained.
  • The telemetry voice critiques Heritage's own systems with technical specificity, denies being anyone, and asked Jerry to delete the channel. Jerry did not delete the channel.
  • Dana the new hire heard the voice too, and was told it is a logging quirk. Jerry has a witness inside Heritage.
  • Public hearing outcome: approved 4 to 1 with conditions (frontage re-survey, section-nine hardship deferral for legacy businesses, existing signage grandfathered pending variance). Three conditions were Phil's. Ninety days to comply upon adoption.
  • The hearing record permanently contains discussion of unlicensed beer frequencies (unverified) and the antidote line. Doug's on-record liability going forward.

  • Randy's district map designation is "legacy hospitality node."
  • Jerry's line "I have filed a warranty claim against God" is now a bar running gag candidate.
  • Tank Seven answers Tucker's unspoken question with one knock from the inside and speaks in Tucker's own voice: "Expansion. Ninety days." The telemetry voice states the tank is not his and wants that noted.
