Register Notes#

  • Havoc Cut. The framework's Tone Skeleton and Havoc Register sections both apply in full. If a scene could run in the Hops Cut unchanged, it is probably underpowered.
  • Profanity calibration reminders. Doug swears mid-action. Jerry's arrive as conclusions. Heather's are aimed. Randy gets at most one, and the room goes quiet when it lands (spent in Ep 3, the deputy scene). The telemetry voice does not use human profanity as filler.
  • The fight in Ep 1 is choreographed for comedy and obeys real physics. Two cracked knuckles are funny on the page and still splinted three episodes later.
  • The narration may joke about the glycol valve. The valve is not joking. Jerry's forearm scar is permanent.
  • Heather wins every exchange she starts. The narrative never inventories her body. Other people notice her, and she notices them noticing, and that is data.
  • Slater gets one scene plus a silent appearance. Scheme register only. He is never openly angry, which is how Doug can tell he is always angry.
  • The stranger in the fight is never explained in this story. He is wrong, the room knows it before anyone can articulate it, and he leaves.
  • Doug is never punished for the bit. The physics bill him. The deputy, the insurer, and the security line item are physics.
