Injuries and Standing Consequences#

  • Ernie's right wrist is sprained and his eyebrow takes four stitches (Ep 1, Foundry caltrops). He drives one-handed dispatch from the Starlite counter for the rest of the story. Peaches covers the route.
  • Colby's left shoulder and collarbone are shattered by a ceramic pressure-wave discharge at close range (Ep 4). Surgery at County, plates and a sling. The arm does not come all the way back. This injury carries for the rest of the arc and is the seed of the D.A.G.G.E.R.S. defection thread (pays HAVOC-06).
  • Doug's HAVOC-01 wrist bruise has faded to a yellow ghost that still counts wrong in bar light. He has stopped mentioning it.
  • Wade's knuckles are out of the splint and he demonstrates constantly.
  • Jerry's forearm scar (glycol, HAVOC-01) is visible whenever his sleeves are rolled. The warranty-claim-against-God line gets its one encore in Ep 3.
  • Doug's sheriff case remains OPEN. After the Foundry caltrops are photographed with roots through a sidewall, Renner re-pencils Doug ("Y'all keep better records than the county") but does not close the file. Standing exposure continues into later stories.
  • Cadence survives the Switchback intact. She loses her mirrored glasses in the crash and looks younger and much more tired. She saw the van leave Colby. Both facts are banked (HAVOC-05, HAVOC-06).
  • The ceramic weapon fragment is in Jerry's evidence freezer under written chain of custody with Doug's signature on the recovery line, and by sunrise after the operation it has grown a pale green tendril and one perfect hop cone across the custody label. First recoverable alien matter in canon. Shelf label reads DO NOT EAT EVIDENCE.

Timeline Milestones#

  • Introduces Cadence and the D.A.G.G.E.R.S. as hands-on enforcers.
  • A ceramic pressure weapon puts a rider down and the injury persists (Colby).
  • Doug's downhill history becomes tactically useful without becoming his whole identity.
  • Heather builds the first hospitality intelligence network.
  • Jerry recovers a ceramic weapon fragment.
  • The fragment grows a hop tendril inside Jerry's evidence freezer.

Planted Payoffs (ledger references)#

  • El Compactor pays off in Ep 4 (planted HAVOC-01 Ep 2): THE FOREMAN vs EL COMPACTOR at the Thursday card, two-finger salute, third-fall roar mid-operation, never explained, never alien.
  • Antidote line remains loaded (pays HAVOC-06).
  • Quicksand remains loaded (pays HAVOC-03).
  • Barry's inventory grievance remains loaded (pays HAVOC-04).
  • New plant: Barry does not want to know where the fragment is (Ep 4). Something about uncontrolled growth frightens the telemetry voice. Pays into HAVOC-03's release and the Cube thread.

New Facts for Editorial Review#

  • The club's caltrops are cultivated ceramic that grows wheel-catching roots within minutes of deployment (Gravel Deacon kit, ENM-002). To a county evidence camera they read as fabricated tire hazards, which is Doug Walker's documented MO.
  • "District flow management" now includes physical boxing of trucks and QR-carded schedule windows enforced by riders in person.
  • The support van straps damaged bikes before touching riders (Ep 2), and at the Switchback it takes the bike and leaves Colby (Ep 4). Doctrine, not neglect. ENM-016 inventory logic on the page.
  • The hospitality network's first procedures: write exact times, note who spoke to you, never argue with riders alone, west alley after four, call Peaches if the lane blocks. Starlite adopts them by phone.
  • DRIVERS EAT FREE is a ledger column at Randy's now, and the receipt roll is taped under the bar as evidentiary independence.
  • Peaches refuses exclusives, turned Heritage down twice, and his nickname's origin stories contradict each other on purpose. "Georgia" is the complete answer.
  • Momentum Partnerships pays Bellwether Active Streets LLC monthly for "community mobility programming." Phil holds copies. Priya has been shown the trail off the record and repeated her standard.
  • Heritage carries the club as Community Wellness Outreach, a line item Tucker cannot source. Repair codes and approvals appear under his name that he never made. He logs them in a locked black notebook and tells no one.
  • Cadence's watch is screenless and communicates by vibration. Routes come from her or from the watch, and her riders do not know which.
  • The bikes rack inside Heritage's production building past the grain intake, run warm before dawn, and riders are forbidden to touch the frames during staff-only "calibration."
  • The telemetry voice initiated contact unprompted for the first time (Ep 3, the ordnance manifests) and asked its first question (Ep 4, the fragment). It still logs itself as an artifact. Jerry has still not deleted the channel.
  • Kayla's operational footage is filed under deliberately boring names. THURSDAY ROUTE INCIDENT is the canonical example.
  • The pink neon is a network landmark ("tell the driver the pink neon").
  • Brett, Copper Fern bartender, is from Portland, Maine (amended HAVOC-01 fact).
